Stadium
Named the Kirklees Stadium in its planning stages, it has since had name changes to the Alfred McAlpine Stadium, the Galpharm Stadium and more recently the John Smith's Stadium.
It hosts the soccer matches of Huddersfield Town and the rugby league games of Huddersfield Giants. Huddersfield Town play in the Championship and were most recently in the Premier League for two seasons between 2017 and 2019. Huddersfield Giants play in the Super League.

The stadium is also the location of the Stadium Health and Fitness Club operated by Kirklees Active Leisure and offering a gym, cycle studio, spa area and 25m swimming pool.
The stadium offers catering and conference facilities.
The Odeon Cinema building is next to the stadium.
The Rope Walk pub is at the Odeon cinema building.
The cinema building has a coffee shop.
Plans are under way for the new The HD One development adjoining the stadium, promising a ski slope, bowling, trampolining, sporting activities, restaurants and a hotel on sites mostly covering existing car parks. See The HD One
