It is based mostly in modern blocks and recently-converted mill buildings on one campus alongside the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.

The university has seen the creation of some inspiring architecture among its modern expansion which in recent years has included an upgraded Student Central building, a newly-built Creative Arts Building, Business School, 3M Buckley Innovation Centre, a new sports hall, new Oastler and Barbara Hepworth Buildings and the Jo Cox More in Common Centre.

The University continues to expand and the first building has been started at its new National Health Innovation Campus in nearby Southgate. This will allow it to expand its nursing and health courses.

There has been recent growth in the number of student accommodation buildings close to the campus with a further accommodation campus at Storthes Hall, Kirkburton, about three miles from the main campus with a direct bus service.

Huddersfield bus stationThe university is within five minutes walk of Huddersfield bus station and town centre bus stops providing a full range of services throughout the Huddersfield area and to neighbouring towns. The following services also operate from the University bus stop in Queensgate:
