Birdsedge Village Hall aims to promote a community spirit and provide a social hub for everyone within the village and the surrounding areas. The hall was built in 1851 and extended in 1870 for use as the village school until 1911. After periods as a village club and club for local wartime servicemen, the hall became disused in the 1950s. Village fundraising and volunteer renovation efforts saw it return to community use in the early 1970s and further renovations were completed in 2009. Among its regular activities are pilates classes, whist drives and quizzes.
Just across the river from the centre of Birds Edge is the hamlet of Park Head, where there was once a pub The Crown.
