Lower Cumberworth

Lower Cumberworth is a rural village 7 miles south east of Huddersfield town centre and just under 1 mile north north west of Denby Dale.

The village is a small farming community, although there has been an increase in other housing in recent years. It has a pub, chapel and cricket field and used to have its own post office, although this is now closed.

Cumberworth Lane leads to Upper Cumberworth about a mile away to the west south west.

The Foresters Arms is in Shelley Woodhouse Lane at the junction with Cumberworth Lane.
Cumberworth United Cricket Club plays at its ground at Cumberworth Lane, Lower Cumberworth. The team is in the Huddersfield Drakes League and has junior teams ranging from under-9s to under-17s.  Cumberworth United CC web pages
