Outlane
The M62 at Outlane was opened in 1970 and follows the path of a Roman road. Outlane is the location of a Roman fort at Slack, although traces of this are now beneath the car park of Outlane Golf Club.

New Hey Road and its vicinity is in the Colne Valley ward of Kirklees district, while Stainland Road leads to an area which is in the Greetland and Stainland ward of Calderdale district.
