Scapegoat Hill
It is the highest village in the Huddersfield area at a height of more than 340 metres above sea level in places.

The late 1980s saw the building of a hotel at Nettleton Hill Road in Scapegoat Hill. The 31-bedroom hotel, complete with its own helicopter pad, became the Pennine Manor Hotel.

Scapegoat Hill can be reached by hilly and narrow minor roads just under a mile from the A640 New Hey Road near Outlane and about 2 miles from the A62 Manchester Road at Slaithwaite.
