Wooldale
Wooldale occupies a hilltop position on the eastern side of the Holme Valley on an old route between Holmfirth and New Mill, the centre of the village being bypassed by the present A635 New Mill Road.
Quakerism came to Wooldale in the 1650s. The Grade II listed meeting house at Pell Lane in the village originally dates from the late 17th century and was repaired and enlarged to its present size in 1783.
