Bolster Moor

Bolster MoorBolster Moor is a small village on a plateau high above the north side of the Colne Valley and Golcar about 3.5 miles west south west of Huddersfield town centre (4.5 miles by road).

Bolster Moor has a community association which organises a variety of local events.

The area used to have a Baptist Church, at Bolster Moor Road, but this closed in 2013.

A former Anglican church at Westwood Edge Road has been converted into the Westwood Christian Centre, a retreat including flats and a hall.

Bolster Moor has an award-winning farm shop at Harden Road Farm, Bolster Moor Road. As well as awards for its shop and cafe in recent years, it quite regularly wins top prizes for its pies, sausages and other produce.

Bolster Moor can be reached by hilly and narrow minor roads just over a mile from the A640 New Hey Road near Outlane and around 2 miles from the A62 Manchester Road at Slaithwaite.

Roads through the area are generally unsuitable for access by large vehicles and can also be affected by severe weather conditions.
