Deighton

DeightonDeighton Mill and Huddersfield Broad CanalDeighton is a district of Huddersfield about two miles north-east of the town centre.

The area has a diverse range of land uses, including a variety of private and social housing, together with industrial sites and warehouses, including the headquarters of Poundstretcher and part of a large chemical works.

There are also garage sites, several sports fields, woodland and attractive canalside locations.

Deighton stationDeighton station is in Whitacre Street and offers TransPennine Express and Northern train services on the Huddersfield Line to Leeds and Huddersfield Line Wakefield connection services. Services include direct services eastbound to Mirfield, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury, Batley, Morley, Cottingley and Leeds and to Mirfield, Wakefield Kirkgate, Normanton and Castleford. Westbound there are now services to Huddersfield only. From Huddersfield there are trains to Slaithwaite and Marsden and also (returning non-stop through Deighton) to Brighouse, Halifax, Low Moor and Bradford.
