Hall Bower
Extending from the historic hamlet, some houses were built in the fields alongside Hall Bower Lane and near the Hall Bower Sunday School in High Lane mostly in the early 20th century and more recently there has been a small development in a former farmyard.
A Sunday School chapel was first opened in Hall Bower 1814. Among its uses today is as a meeting place for the Hall Bower Art Group.
Just across High Lane was a round stone-built enclosed water storage reservoir. When the small reservoir became disused its building was preserved as a house conversion.
Hall Bower Athletic Club is a private members club run for the local community and has a history dating back to 1897. Most years it hosts an annual Bowerfest festival in July.
Former farm fields in the area now accommodate pitches for the junior rugby league matches of Newsome Panthers.
Between Hall Bower and Stirley Hill is the Stirley Community Farm, operated by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
