New Mill
New MillNew MillChrist Church, New MillNew Mill is a village about 5 miles south of Huddersfield (6 miles by road) and about 1.5 miles east-north-east of Holmfirth (2.5 miles by road).

Textile mills were once a very prominent feature of New Mill. While high quality cloth manufacturing is still based in the village, many of the old mill buildings have been replaced by housing developments.
The commercial heart of the village is on a realigned crossroads at the junction of the A635 Holmfirth Road and Penistone Road and the A616 Huddersfield Road and Sheffield Road.
New Mill Male Voice Choir was established in the village in 1991.
The village church, Christ Church New Mill, whose foundations were laid in 1829, stands on Sude Hill, high above the village centre.
The Co-op in New Mill was until 2017 a branch of the Wooldale Co-operative Society, which had operated as a local independent Co-op for more than 130 years.
New Mill is part of the civil parish run by Holme Valley Parish Council within the metropolitan district of Kirklees. Historically, New Mill had its own Urban District Council between 1895 and 1938, when it was merged into the Holmfirth urban district.
