Fenay Bridge
The area is now almost entirely residential, with much new development within the last 20 years.
By road, the village appears divided in two, accessed from either side of the Beck via Penistone Road or via Wakefield Road and Fenay Bridge Road, but it is easy to navigate through all areas on foot.
For around 100 years from 1902, Fenay Bridge was the location of a large brickworks. There was also a Fenay Bridge and Lepton station at Station Road, Fenay Bridge, on the four-and-a-half mile branch line which linked Kirkburton and Huddersfield via a junction at Deighton. This closed to passengers in 1930 and this section of the line was closed to freight in 1965.
Fenay Bridge used to have a St Helen's Church, but this was amalgamated into a new church in Almondbury in the 1950s.
