Moldgreen is a district of Huddersfield about one mile east of Huddersfield town centre along the A629 Wakefield Road.

In the 19th century, Moldgreen was part of the very rural 'township' of Dalton and was the first part of it to see heavy urbanisation.

The building of many new textile mills near the river and canal to the south of Huddersfield saw the edges of the town expand in the latter half of the 1800s with terrace housing and schools created in nearby Moldgreen for the mill workers.

While some of Victorian Moldgreen was cleared when Wakefield Road was widened a century later, housing in the area continued to expand across Moldgreen and into the neighbouring fields and hamlets of Dalton.

Moldgreen is the location of Ravensknowle Park which includes Huddersfield's museum, the Tolson Museum. The museum is based in a former Victorian mansion which was presented with its grounds to the Huddersfield Corporation in 1919 by its owner in memory of his nephews who were killed in World War I. The grounds became the park where a shelter created from the clock tower of Huddersfield's former Cloth Hall was later placed.
